 READ HOSEA 13

GO DEEPER

In Hosea 13, the Lord mercifully recalls to His people His constant care for them. He highlights their dependency on Him for sustenance and survival. Out of His compassion, He nourished them and uplifted their spirits. However, once they felt self-sufficient and satisfied, they quickly forgot about Him. This is a common pattern we often fall into.

Revisit Hosea 13:4-6 to hear God's message once more: Yet I am the LORD thy God from the land of Egypt, and thou shalt know no god but Me: for there is no saviour beside Me. I did know thee in the wilderness, in the land of great drought. According to their pasture, so were they filled; they were filled, and their heart was exalted; therefore have they forgotten Me.

We tend to seek comfort and prioritize our own well-being, creating idols out of worldly solutions instead of turning to God. Despite this, He faithfully provides for our needs, prompting fleeting gratitude from us.

Reflect on His continuous faithfulness in your life, recognizing that He never leaves you lacking (Luke 22:35). Even if His provision doesn't align with our expectations, He always equips us to move forward, deserving of our worship. He always ensures that His glory remains at the forefront of our lives. Let's maintain our reliance on Him, acknowledging His unwavering care over us.

Consider this reminder in Hosea 13:14, I will ransom them from the power of the grave; I will redeem them from death: O death, I will be thy plagues; O grave, I will be thy destruction: repentance shall be hid from mine eyes. This reaffirms the Father's greatest provision for us—deliverance from death's grip through the sacrifice and resurrection of Jesus (1 John 3:16). Let's not grow complacent in this truth but commit to following Jesus daily. Remember to treasure this gift and respond with wholehearted praise and dedication. His consistent care and provision are constant reminders of His love and concern for us.
