READ EXODUS 8
Another day, same repeated message: "Let My people go." In the coming days, Pharaoh's unyielding heart and actions will continue to amaze you. However, it's important not to quickly distance ourselves from his pride and arrogance, thinking that "we would never..." The reality is that we have done so and still do. We frequently cling stubbornly to a cause or excuse even when God instructs us to let go. We often make empty promises and insincere repentances. The repercussions of our pride and sin toward others are evident. We harden our hearts as we indulge in disobedience and defiance. When we have no intention of changing or submitting, we seek prayers from others to implore God's mercy and leniency.
Unyielding. Determined. Stubborn. Proud. Calling out causes discomfort, but the aftermath of ignoring wise advice is even more distressing. Pharaoh, who disregarded the warnings of Moses and Aaron and even the insights of his advisors, labeled the events as divine intervention. Ultimately, he disregarded God, which led to disastrous consequences.
Pharaoh represents many individuals globally. God's approach with Pharaoh mirrors His current way of working—He desires people to know Him. He offers us opportunities to make righteous decisions and receive His blessings. Oftentimes, God utilizes individuals to guide us, caution us, uplift us, and remind us that He intends freedom for us. Pharaoh chose not to have faith in God, dismissed wise counsel, and his disobedience brought about personal and national calamity in Egypt. Our decisions shape our fate.
Pharaoh either conveniently forgot his commitments or had no intention of fulfilling them. Be assured that God keeps every promise. He remains faithful to His word, seeking your deliverance and surrender.
