READ EXODUS 14
The crossing of the Red Sea is a significant story from the Old Testament found in the Bible. God recognized that the recently liberated people, who were in despair and feeling abandoned, needed reassurance. Ten devastating plagues had freed them from nearly four centuries of enslavement. They were journeying to a land they had never seen, putting their faith in Moses, who was not raised among them and did not fully understand their circumstances. They required a push to move forward with faith. Therefore, God presented them with a remarkable event to showcase His power to the Israelites and to strengthen their belief in their leader, Moses. The event was a declaration of His identity and capabilities, so they could draw upon this account in times of need for posterity.
